Building the OSCE Youth Network in Georgia – Second Meeting

On 17 July, 2014 the second working meeting was held at Caucasus International University within the frameworks of the project “Building the OSCE Youth Network in Georgia”.
Angelo Gnaedinger, OSCE Special representative for South Caucasus met the CIU students and they discussed the carried out activities and future plans.

University Life-Long Service Visits Graz (Austria)

On 17-18 June, 2014 within the frameworks of the TEMPUS project “SSRULLI” (Strengthening the Specific Role of Universities as LLL Institutions), the workshop concerning the methodology of strategic planning was held. CIU participated in this event, as a partner university. Prof. Tamar Chakhnashvili (a project coordinator, head of ULLL service at CIU) and Full Professor Tamar Kiknadze (a project participant) visited Graz University.
The workshop was chaired by EUCEN president, Andrea Waxenegger (Graz University). She introduced the methodology of working out the strategies of University Life Long Learning Centres. In addition, she placed emphasis on the significance of the strategy and the process of its development. Correspondingly, partner universities discussed the existing challenges and worked on developing the action plans and strategies of the universities.

Agreement for Mutual Collaboration with Tbilisi Civil Court

Tbilisi Civil Court and Caucasus International University signed an agreement for mutual collaboration. The document was signed by Kakhaber Kordaia, a rector of Caucasus International University and Mamuka Akhvlediani, a chairman of Tbilisi Civil Court. The agreement envisages delivering lectures and seminars for CIU students of the faculty of law. They will be given an opportunity to familiarize with court system and attend trials at Tbilisi Civil Court.

Agreement with the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs

Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia and Caucasus International University signed an agreement of mutual collaboration on 4 July. The document was signed by Levan Kipiani, the Minister and Kakhaber Kordzaia, CIU Rector.
Both parties have agreed to share information; organize joint seminars, scientific conferences and internships; facilitate the organization of sport competitions, cultural, intellectual and entertaining events. Department of Innovations and Strategic Development of CIU and the department of Youth Affairs will work jointly on recommendations. Both sides agreed to provide all the necessary conditions for reinforcing mutual collaboration

Granting Status to Ilia Chavchavadze Levee

By the initiative of Caucasus International University and Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly - Georgian National Committee, the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia granted the status of cultural monument to a levee built by the initiative of Ilia Chavchavadze in Kvareli. It protects population from flooding caused by the river Duruji. A memorial of the monument will be opened in a near future.
